BALANCE THE GRID
Vattenfall invites you to help in the challenge of incentivizing consumers to communicate energy demand and production to allow all stakeholders to balance the grid.
Today, only big fossil-fueled generation units can offer their flexibility to the market. With the energy transition, these generation units are replaced by small decentralized solar and wind units. To keep the future grid balanced, new sources of flexibility, like households, need to be used. Therefore processes and the trust models of the power market need to become scalable and frictionless.
Our focus is on building trust between the flexibility providers (households) and flexibility consumers’, we do this in two ways: – Automated remote onboarding (COVID -> relevant!!) – Incentivise all participants to behave well with reputation scores
Long term vision
With the energy transition, the physical grid is changing from a centralized fossil fuel-based grid to a decentralized grid powered by renewable energy. It is inevitable that underlying markets, infrastructure, and the role of the different stakeholders have to change along. Our long term vision is a democratic trustless grid of the future, where prosumers (you and me) can play an active role.
Members must join aggregator to reduce market flexibility now Only large companies can join the agility market through an aggregator. The aggregator assumes the risks for participation in the TSO market and selects participants to the pool itself. How to agree within a group of participants to reduce power at certain hours and implement a mechanism reducing the interaction of the aggregator?
We are creating a platform that will help small companies and individuals easily start participating in the flexibility market and earn money, while aggregators will have less work to do. The rating system of participants without large deposits Help in assessing your own possible reduction in consumption Automatic calculation of the reward of participants through a smart contract
Long term vision
In the future, we want to create a decentralized network of energy balancing market participants. Participants will be able to self-join groups and participate in energy reduction during peak hours without the participation of aggregators.
